The JFR Lunatic Loco Firecracker is one cigar I’ve been smoking a lot of lately. It’s an action-packed 3 1/2 by 50 cigar that makes for an excellent evening ender, or just a delicious but strong smoke for when you don’t have much time to sit down. If you can find some grab them. You may be wondering why I’m talking about Aganorsa on a news post for a new Micallef line. That’s because the Firecracker blends are actually a series and Micallef is the next in line to produce some — with the Micallef Black Firecracker.
What is the new Micallef Black Firecracker?

Using the same 3 1/2 by 50 petit robusto sizing, the Micallef Black Firecracker follows the previously released blends in the series. It features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. I’d imagine it’s going to have a nice little kick when you light up.
They will begin shipping in June at an MSRP of $9 per cigar, available in boxes of 20. That’s pretty much in line with the previous Firecracker releases. There’s no word on how limited the availability will be or production amounts.
Started by Two Guys Smoke Shop in New Hampshire, the Firecracker series was originally exclusive to the shop. It has since been taken over by United Cigars and is now available nationwide. Some of the companies that have participated include Aganorsa, Dunbarton, E.P. Carrillo, HVC, J.C. Newman, Kristoff, La Flor Dominicana, My Father, Perdomo, RoMa Craft, Tatuaje, and more.
They tend to come out around the Fourth of July, hence the name Firecracker. United has rereleased some of the blends at varying times, however.
Following the petite robusto 3 1/2 by 50 profile, the United Cigars series always features a red, white, and blue signature secondary band with a long pigtail.
At any rate, prep for June because I imagine this is one release you don’t want to miss.
