Go big or go home, I always say. That’s pretty much what’s happening with a new blend coming from Crowned Heads. The brand’s Juárez line will soon see a new addition, which should be available sometime in March. Aptly named the Juárez Bulldozer, this time the company is kicking things up a notch, quite figuratively.
Crowned Heads’ co-founder Jon Huber says “This time, rather than go with a smaller format like Shots, we went in the opposite direction. We wanted a big-bang, flavor-forward profile to accompany the larger 58-ring gauge, so we amped up the original blend, then box-pressed it and finished it with a pigtail cap.”
Shots, if you didn’t already know, was a 2022 release from Crowned Heads in a much smaller vitola.
The Juárez Bulldozer Limited Edition 2025 features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and fillers from several places, including the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Nicaragua. It sounds great, but it’s one I’ll be trying on a clean palate. The Juárez Bulldozer is packed with so many different tobaccos that I want only its pure flavor, not that of other cigars I’ve had before it.
Set to ship to stores in March, it’s limited to its total production run of 1,500 boxes. Each box contains 12 cigars at the box-pressed 5 1/2 by 58 Gordo size, priced at $9.95 per cigar. That’s about $120 per box if you’re doing the math.
It also features a pigtail cap, which is a neat little detail I always get a kick out of. Pigtails up!
